Polaniec Power Station

GDF Suez, one of the leading energy producers in the world, built a state-of-the-art biomass power plant supplying over 200 MWe of renewable power to Poland’s power grid since 2012. The plant features Sumitomo SHI FW’s state of the art advanced Bio-CFB boiler utilizing cutting edge design features and materials to efficiently and cleanly produce large scale power from a broad spectrum of wood biomass and difficult-to-burn agricultural crops and byproducts.

  • The 100% biomass fired 225 MWe gross / 205 MWe net circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler has been running reliably since November 2012.
  • Our team helped the plant reach commercial operation six weeks ahead of schedule.
