September 30, 2020 - Sumitomo SHI FW (SFW) licensee Isgec Heavy Industries was recently awarded its first order for a Semi-Dry FGD (Circulating Fluidised Bed Scrubbers) system in India from Hindalco Industries Limited.
July 22, 2020 - CRYOBattery technology makes use of a freely available resource— air—which is cooled and stored as a liquid and then converted back into a pressurized gas which drives turbines to produce electricity. Just as pumped-hydro harnesses the power of water, the CRYOBattery unleashes the power of air.
July 16, 2020 - Today, we see intermittent renewable energy sources, like wind and solar, as a vital component needed to transform the world’s global energy infrastructure toward a clean and sustainable energy delivery system. But due to their intermittent nature, grid operators and power generators are facing growing challenges for maintaining power grid stability and power quality with increasing levels of wind and solar power.

February 25, 2020 - SHI strengthens its position in cleantech and energy storage industry with $46 million investment in Highview Power
February 18, 2020 - SFW is proud to announce being selected by HELEN to provide a circulating fluidized-bed (CFB) boiler for the new Vuosaari bioenergy plant which will assist Helen’s goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2035
November 8, 2019 - The use of Sumitomo SHI FW (SFW) circulating fluidized bed (CFB) combustion technology has grown from small-scale applications to large ultra-supercritical power plants in less than 20 years. The CFB is rapidly becoming the technology of choice for solid fuel-fired power generation applications, particularly for locations with lower quality and biomass fuel supplies. The fuel flexible and innately lower carbon emissions of CFB technology also addresses the need for sustainable use of domestic fuels in many countries, writes Asif Hussain, SVP of Strategic Business Development, Sumitomo SHI FW.
