Multifuel and WTE Plants – Fuel Flexibility and Decarbonization in Utility & CHP

Thursday, 23 April 2020 by admin
Power project developers are demanding increased fuel flexibility in order to maximize utilization of local renewable biomass and recycled fuels such as refuse derived fuels (RDF), local agricultural and industrial wastes, tires, and forestry residues.  These multi-fuel projects are becoming more common for several reasons. First, power producers are able to take advantage of locally available and much less expensive fuel sources

Circulating Fluidised Bed Boilers Makes a Case for India (Energetica)

Monday, 13 January 2020 by admin
January 13, 2020 - The use of Sumitomo SHI FW (SFW) circulating fluidised bed (CFB) combustion technology has grown from smallscale applications to large ultra-supercritical power plants in less than 20 years. The CFB is rapidly becoming the technology of choice for solid-fuel-fired power generation applications, particularly for locations with lower quality fuel. It addresses the need for sustainable use of domestic fuels in many countries, notably India.

Circulating Fluidised Bed Boilers Makes a Case for India (Power Info Today)

Monday, 13 January 2020 by admin
January 13, 2020 - There is growing recognition that circulating fluidised bed technology is a good fit for India’s power generation needs. An independent expert committee convened by the Indian Ministry of Power – with representatives from CEA (Central Electricity Authority), BHEL, NTPC, and NLC – for example, identified a number of benefits, notably fuel flexibility and inherently low emissions, without the need for expensive emissions control systems to meet the SOx and NOx below 100 mg/Nm3.
