Commercial Manager

Commercial Manager leads the proposal and sales phase of Boiler Plant Projects in SFW and towards the Customer.

Assignment as Commercial Manager offers you a great opportunity to work in international boiler and power business within changing market environment.

The position will be based preferably in SFW Varkaus office or in SFW Espoo office as an alternative.


As a Commercial Manager you will have the overall responsibility for the proposals, especially commercial part of them. You will lead the proposal team, which consists of experts in the different fields, and you will work in close cooperation with the Proposal Engineering Manager and with other Proposal Team members.

Commercial Manager acts as a primary contact to customer on proposals and leads the commercial and contract negotiations with the customer. In addition, Commercial Manager is responsible for the preparation of commercial documentation of proposal / contract.

Commercial Manager is liable for the competitiveness of the proposal meeting the customer’s requirement.


You have suitable commercial and technical background, M.Sc. (Eng.) / Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent education specialized e.g. in Energy Technology, Power Plant Technology, Environmental Technology, Thermal Engineering with at least 5-10 years of working experience in areas of Engineering and Proposals. Experience in boilers and power plants will be counted as a benefit.

You are result and winning oriented and capable of multi-tasking and doing precise work under the pressure. You have a record of achieved results and you are familiar with preparing and negotiating contracts and leading negotiations with international clients.

You have strong leadership skills and ability to work in task-oriented multidisciplinary teams. Position requires good skills in communication and languages (especially fluent English), presentation and negotiations, as well as reasonable readiness to travel.
