Mr. Toshiyuki Okoshi has been appointed to the position of Senior Vice President, Corporate Planning of Sumitomo SHI FW (SFW) as of 15 December 2017. He will become a member of SFW’s Senior Leadership Team (SLT), located in Espoo Headquarters, and he will report to CEO Tomas Harju-Jeanty.
Okoshi has an M.Sc. (eng) from Keio University in Japan and he joins SFW with 38 years of operations and leadership experience in Sumitomo Heavy Industries (SHI) in Tokyo, Niihama and Osaka offices in Japan as well as in London, United Kingdom and in Hanoi, Vietnam, where he held the position of Deputy General Director. Since 2003 Okoshi has worked in Corporate and Strategic Planning, first in SHI Tokyo Headquarters and since 2013 as the Head of that function in Energy and Environment Group (E&E).
In his new role in SFW Okoshi benefits from his experience as SHI’s lead executive during the “SigmaCFB” – project, which brought him and many of SFW’s current people very close together during the process that lasted nearly two years.
Okoshi will be taking responsibility for SFW’s corporate planning and development including driving growth through acquisitions as well as through integration with SHI. Okoshi will work as an efficient liaison between SFW, E&E and the SHI Headquarters, thereby providing important support in our quest to become a tightly knitted part of the SHI family.
“Having Okoshi san joining SFW’s SLT is a big step forward in our integration process.” stated Tomas Harju-Jeanty.
